Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable, alert, and professional Unarmed Security Guard to join our team at Real House Inc. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining a calm and positive atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Premises: Conduct regular patrols of the facility and its surrounding areas to deter and detect suspicious activity or security threats.
- Access Control: Manage the entry and exit of residents, staff, and visitors by checking identification, maintaining sign-in logs, and ensuring compliance with facility policies.
- Surveillance: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring that any unusual activity is reported immediately to management or law enforcement as needed.
- Conflict Resolution: Use de-escalation techniques to address potential conflicts or disturbances between residents and visitors, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
- Report Incidents: Document incidents, irregularities, or suspicious activities, and prepare accurate and detailed reports for management and law enforcement if required.
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, such as medical situations, fires, or disturbances, while following safety protocols and procedures.
- Compliance: Enforce facility rules, policies, and regulations in a fair and consistent manner to maintain order and safety.
- Provide Support: Assist with resident inquiries, help with logistical needs, and provide general support to staff and visitors as needed. Assist Residential Workers when needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous Security Experience is preferred but not required
- Strong Communication Skills – Ability to effectively communicate with staff, residents, and visitors
- Good Judgment & Conflict Resolution Skills – Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations tactfully
- Physically Fit – Must be able to walk, stand, and patrol the premises for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of Safety Protocols – Understanding of emergency response procedures and security practices
- Reliable and Responsible – Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality
- Clean Background Check – Must pass a background check, as per facility requirements
- First Aid & CPR Certification – Preferred but not required
Working Conditions:
- This position may involve working in a controlled, yet occasionally challenging environment.
- Some shifts may include evenings, weekends, or holidays.
- Regular interaction with residents and staff in a supportive, rehabilitative setting.
