We aim to impact and revitalize communities through the development of education and other supportive partnerships.
Job Purpose: Entrepreneur High School Fontana is seeking a dedicated and supportive Assistant Cheerleading Coach to work closely with the Head Varsity Cheerleading Coach in leading the cheerleading team. The successful candidate will support coaching, mentoring, and developing student-athletes to help them reach their highest potential. The Assistant Coach will help create a positive and inclusive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth, while supporting skills such as stunting, choreography, and adherence to cheerleading safety guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in organizing and conducting regular team practices, conditioning sessions, and performances.
- Support the development and implementation of effective cheerleading routines, including stunts, tumbling, jumps, and dance choreography.
- Teach and reinforce proper techniques for stunts, pyramids, and tumbling to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Help monitor and maintain adherence to safety guidelines, ensuring all cheerleading activities comply with CIF Southern Section (CIF SS) and other governing bodies' rules and policies.
- Contribute to fostering a positive team culture that promotes mutual respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Mentor and support student-athletes in their academic, athletic, and personal development.
- Assist in organizing cheerleading performances for school events, pep rallies, sports games, and competitions.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach, athletic trainers, and school administration to support smooth team operations.
- Provide support during team activities, including travel arrangements, equipment management, and fundraising efforts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and the community regarding team activities, schedules, and achievements under the Head Coach’s guidance.
- Adhere to all school district policies and procedures as well as state athletic regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience in cheerleading or cheer coaching at the high school or collegiate level, preferably as an assistant coach.
- Strong knowledge of cheerleading, including rules, techniques, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and school staff.
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
- Willingness to obtain a valid coaching certification prior to the start of the season (as required by the state or school district).
Physical demands:
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to physically demonstrate and participate in sport-specific drills and activities.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as necessary for practices, games, and events.

The stipend for the Varsity Cheerleading Assistant Coach position is up to $1,250 for the cheerleading season paid at $20 per hour for non-exempt employees. Compensation, may vary from year to year based on the number of programs and student participation levels, number of junior varsity and varsity programs; as well as the number of students attending the school.
