Description
The Physician Scheduler is a role requiring an organized and detail-oriented professional with strong computer skills. This position manages the implementation and administration of all scheduling rules and requirements to ensure proper staffing, including physician vacation time, incentivized shifts, and other schedule related items.
Job Functions
- Administer scheduling software, keeping the system updated
- Remain updated on scheduling software functions
- Coordinate all physician scheduling
- Work with Physician Services department to maintain the proper credentialing, licensing, and facility information necessary to schedule appropriate coverage
- Communicate directly with physicians about their schedule
- Manage the communication and confirmation of incentivized shifts and communicate to the accounting department in a clear and succinct manner
- Provide timely management of physicians requesting shift changes and vacation requests
- Communicate scheduling to all stakeholders in the organization as necessary
- Provide timely communication of any changes to the schedule to affected parties
- Provide training and assistance to any peripheral users of the scheduling software
- Generate and distribute reporting as necessary
- Collaborate with operations team to incorporate and implement new or updated procedures

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience in Physician Schedule management
- 2 years experience in scheduling roles
