Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee the construction of a wastewater treatment plant project in the Detroit, MI area. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects, particularly within the water/wastewater sector. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage all aspects of project delivery, including cost control, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of wastewater treatment plant projects
Coordinate and manage field operations, subcontractors, and suppliers
Oversee project budget, schedule, and quality control measures
Ensure compliance with contract specifications, safety regulations, and company standards
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including owners, engineers, and internal teams
Manage project documentation and reporting, including change orders and progress updates
Support and mentor project engineers and field staff
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong focus on water/wastewater projects
Proven success managing complex infrastructure projects from start to finish
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Familiarity with construction software such as P6, Procore, or similar platforms
Ability to travel or relocate to project site as needed
