Senior Cost Consultant - Life Sciences & Industrial Manufacturing Projects

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Consultant to play a pivotal role in managing and supporting major capital projects within the Life Sciences and Industrial Manufacturing sectors. This position offers the opportunity to lead on cost management across all project phases, ensuring delivery within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. You will engage with clients, project teams, and internal stakeholders to drive value and maintain excellence on some of the industry's most dynamic projects.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning and Estimating
- Lead the development of detailed cost plans, ensuring alignment with client budgets and project requirements.
- Present cost estimates and provide strategic advice to clients and internal teams.
Procurement Management
Oversee procurement processes, including prequalification, tendering, analysis, and contract preparation.Ensure efficient procurement practices that align with project goals and timelines.Cost Reporting and Financial Management
Manage day-to-day cost tracking, including change orders, expenditure monitoring, and cost reporting.Implement robust financial controls across the project lifecycle.Client and Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a senior point of contact for clients, providing expert cost management advice and fostering strong relationships.Ensure clear communication and alignment on financial matters with project stakeholders.Post-Contract Financial Oversight
Monitor post-contract cost performance, addressing variances and managing final account negotiations.Provide value engineering solutions to optimize project costs and deliver client value.Qualifications and Experience
Degree : Relevant qualifications such as Engineering, or Construction Management. A professional accreditation such as MRICS is highly desirable.Experience : 7 years in a Cost Consultancy role, preferably with experience in life sciences, industrial manufacturing, or other capital-intensive projects.Commercial Acumen : Strong financial and commercial understanding, with proven ability to manage budgets, perform cost analysis, and ensure financial performance throughout projects.Communication Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication, with the ability to present complex cost information effectively to clients and stakeholders.Industry Expertise : Familiarity with the life sciences or industrial manufacturing sectors, including a strong understanding of their unique challenges and opportunities in cost management.What We Offer
