What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer position at Real Time Recruitment Solutions (RTRS)?
Mechanical Engineer – Aerospace Systems
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in supporting the design, analysis, and development of mechanical and electromechanical components used in mission-critical aerospace systems. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on design expertise, solid modeling experience, and a strong understanding of structural and thermal performance in high-reliability environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design complex aerospace components and assemblies using 3D CAD tools such as PTC Creo or equivalent.
- Analyze product designs for mechanical integrity, fatigue life, thermal performance, vibration response, and motion behavior using FEA tools and analytical techniques.
- Participate in developing and executing product validation plans, including environmental testing and system qualification in accordance with aerospace standards.
- Support and review detailed manufacturing and assembly documentation, including 2D drawings and annotated CAD models.
- Collaborate with testing teams to investigate system behavior under real-world and simulated conditions, supporting both prototype and production hardware.
- Draft comprehensive engineering documentation, including reports, test summaries, and technical briefs throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work closely with R&D, production, and supply chain teams to transition new designs into manufacturing with a focus on repeatability, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues during both prototype builds and production runs.
- Communicate regularly with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to resolve technical challenges and ensure project milestones are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical or systems engineering within the aerospace or defense sectors.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (PTC Creo preferred); able to model complex geometries with a high degree of precision.
- Practical knowledge of finite element analysis tools such as ANSYS for evaluating stress, thermal loads, and vibration behavior.
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles and the ability to interpret and critique engineering drawings.
- Capable of performing engineering calculations involving structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, and modal analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting, collaboration, and customer interaction.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced development environment.
- A proactive problem solver with a keen interest in innovative engineering solutions.
