Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and movement of goods within the warehouse. This role requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks, to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Move products throughout the warehouse while ensuring proper handling and storage procedures are followed.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by using order pickers for picking and packing products as needed.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety standards at all times while operating machinery.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve overall efficiency in the warehouse operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Familiarity with various types of forklifts, including but not limited to standard forklifts, order pickers, clamp trucks, and cherry pickers.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable; candidates must be willing to obtain certification if not already held.
- A commitment to safety practices in accordance with OSHA guidelines is essential.
