Part-Time Medical Assistant
Typical Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00 (Must be available to work 8:30-5:00 Tuesday-Thursday)

Real You Plastic Surgery and Wellness is seeking a Medical Assistant who is a team player willing to help our practice grow, and is passionate about helping others change their lives. The Medical Assistant performs a variety of patient care activities to assist the physician. They deliver quality customer service and maintain established quality control standards. The Medical Assistant assists in the care of the patient by following through on orders for treatments.

Primary Responsibilities: Patient care (monitoring vitals, imaging and blood results, medications), keep charts updated, be a healthy role model, and be dependable.
Assist physician in exam rooms. Gives instructions to patients as instructed by physician. Ensure patient medical records are accurate and up-to-date. Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and maintain instruments. Schedule surgeries and appointments. Take and return patient phone calls. Assist in scribing during appointments as needed. Take before and after photos of patients prior to being seen by the physician. All other duties as assigned by the physician or practice manager.
Position Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program. Previous clinical experience of one year minimum or externship recommendation. Understanding of medical terminology. Knowledge of EMRs. Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.

Required education:

Required experience:
- Medical Assistant: 2 years (preferred)
- Previous experience working in a surgery center (preferred)
Coordinates with clinic staff to ensure a positive patient flow, waiting room, and exam room experience
Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
Prepares patients for examination by taking before and after photos, performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
Monitor, clean and sanitize assigned patient examination rooms, unit areas and unit equipment; reports outdated supplies, stock levels and restock set levels of items and necessary equipment repairs.
Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Greets patients and escorts them from the waiting room to exam rooms; prepares patients for consultation, post-op and follow-up.
· Review and document health history forms
· Takes vital signs for post-op and follow-up patients as needed
· Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
· Assists surgeon in preparing for examinations and minor procedures
· Accompanies surgeon during examination if a chaperone is required
· Assists in suture removal, drain removal, and other clinical activities as directed by the surgeon
· Draws or prepares injectable drugs
· Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
· Disposes of contaminated items according to OSHA guidelines
· Performs patient education when appropriate
· Schedules appointments.
· Scribes for physician during appointments when necessary.
· Perform other duties as assigned by physician and office manager.
