Position Available : VP of New Development, New Construction
Location : Irvine, CA or Reston, VA
The Vice President of Development, New Construction will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing new development / construction opportunities, focusing on off-market opportunities and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with stakeholders including city and state officials across California (and surrounding states), and expertise in navigating entitlements and securing soft debt. They will work collaboratively with acquisitions, development, and finance teams to identify financing strategies, oversee entitlement processes, and drive projects to completion.

Key Requirements :
- 7 years of experience in affordable housing development, with a strong focus on affordable housing, new construction.
- Deep expertise in LIHTC, HUD financing, and other affordable housing funding mechanisms.
- Established relationships with builders, developers, local / state officials, and industry stakeholders in California (and ideally surrounding states).
- Proven ability to navigate entitlement processes and mitigate entitlement risks.
- Experience securing soft debt and gap financing for affordable housing projects.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze development budgets, control costs, and manage risk.
- Excellent leadership skills, with a history of managing project teams and third-party contractors.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
