The Datacenter Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the daily operations of datacenters, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and security of IT infrastructure. The role requires hands-on management of hardware, monitoring systems, and support for critical systems while adhering to operational procedures and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and resolve hardware or network issues.
Manage backups, disaster recovery protocols, and data redundancy.
Maintain physical infrastructure, including power, cooling, and cabling.
Support patching, firmware updates, and scheduled maintenance.
Document processes, incidents, and inventory for hardware and software assets.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
Perform access control and enforce security protocols within the datacenter.
Qualifications:
Experience with server hardware, networking, and datacenter environments.
Proficiency in monitoring tools and IT service management software.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with ITIL practices or similar frameworks is a plus.
Ability to work in a high-pressure, 24/7 operational environment.
