Responsibilities :
Responsibilities include :
Managing all aspects of play on the golf course
Oversees Course Grounds and landscaping.
Interviews, hires, trains, and supervises a staff of employees for the purpose of maintaining the course.
Plans all maintenance and project work, applying his / her agronomic and admin expertise to achieve the agreed upon maintenance standards and long-range goals
Oversees the scheduling and routing of personnel and equipment
Acquires equipment and purchases necessary supplies to maintain the golf course.
Responsible for inventory control and oversees equipment maintenance programs.
Approves all expenditures and exercises cost control measures to keep, as nearly as possible, operating and capital expenses in line with the approved budget
Keeps accurate records on inventory, weather data, maintenance procedures, chemical and pesticide applications, etc.
Communicated regularly with CPOA General Manager to discuss activities, goals, plans and homeowner input
Develops a working knowledge of agronomy programs associated with the management of the specific water, soil, and turf types of the course.
Properly mixes, calibrates, and applies chemical / fertilizers used on the course
Plus other work related tasks as needed
Qualifications :
Preferred Education / Experience :
Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
Three to four years related experience and / or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience (Degree preference in agronomy / horticulture / plant / soil science).
Ability to read and speak English
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Valid Drivers License
Pesticide Application License
Advanced knowledge of agronomy and management practices; a working knowledge of golf facility principles, practices, and methods; and thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf.
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf course operations
Participation on continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, correspondence courses, field days and trade shows.
