We are seeking a Head of Dev Productivity to lead and evolve the core technology foundation of Realtor.com. This role is dynamic, forward-looking, and growth-oriented, overseeing three key teams – Developer Experience (DevEx), and Service Infrastructure – while building the infrastructure team of the future. You will have the freedom and resources to strategically grow, restructure, and optimize your organization to meet the demands of tomorrow.
As an action-oriented leader with a bias for innovation, you’ll push boundaries, question inefficiencies, and find ways to increase our productivity and effectiveness. You’ll foster a culture of agility and pragmatism, driven by a commitment to making decisions rooted in data. Realtor.com ’s engineering practice will not only be scalable and secure with you at the helm, but will also be a competitive advantage as it’s guided by insights and metrics you set out that will inform our next steps.
This is a hybrid role based in Austin where you will be required in the office three days a week.

What You’ll Do
- Build and Evolve: Lead the current DevEx and Microservices teams while shaping a vision for future growth. Strategically plan team expansion and organizational design, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals.
- Transform Developer Experience: Drive initiatives that enhance developer productivity, leveraging off-the-shelf platforms such as Backstage, Kubernetes, and various rapidly-growing gen AI development tools while looking to create competitive advantage with custom tooling. Redefine what great developer experience looks like.
- Own Microservices and Application Architecture: Oversee the team responsible for critical components of the application infrastructure, including GraphQL, Kasada, Tyk, HAProxy, Istio, and more. Ensure seamless integration, scalability, and reliability across these systems to support engineering teams and deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Establish a culture of data-informed decision making across your teams. Use metrics and analytics to evaluate infrastructure performance, developer productivity, system health, and quality assurance outcomes, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable impact.
- Champion Action and Innovation: Navigate and influence a matrixed environment, pushing back on unnecessary processes while fostering efficiency and agility. Ensure progress isn’t hindered by bureaucracy, driving results and simplifying complexity.
- Collaborate with NewsCorp: Represent Realtor.com in strategic discussions with our parent company, NewsCorp, driving alignment on broader infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives while advocating for Realtor.com’s goals and priorities.
- Long-Term Visionary Leadership: Balance immediate priorities with future-forward planning. Develop strategies to ensure Realtor.com’s infrastructure is positioned to scale with business growth and evolving technology trends.
- Proven Leadership: Significant experience leading development platform teams at scale, with expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, microservices, and developer tooling. A track record of building and scaling high-performing teams.
- Bold Innovator: A visionary who understands emerging technologies and their transformative potential, especially in generative AI, machine learning, and developer experience.
