RealtyLink has an exciting opportunity for a motivated legal professional who has a passion for the transactional side of commercial real estate and is not deterred by a high volume and pace. The legal department is a strong backbone on each project, with team members who take pride in their ownership mentality and work product.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Act as lead internal legal contact on various categories of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, financings, land development, and dispositions. Escalate challenges or concerns to Company Principals and/or Director of Legal, as needed.
Ø Draft and / or review all manner of transaction-related documents, including sales and purchase contracts, amendments, notices, and closing-related documentation.
Ø Coordinate obtaining, and then track, review and analyze, project-specific due diligence - including title commitments, surveys, zoning and environmental reports, and title exception documents.
Ø Maintain and manage critical dates, transaction checklists and closing timelines.
Ø Interact with Company Principals, outside counsel, title companies, lenders, vendors, and municipal agencies to drive projects to closing.
Ø Maintain, manage and preserve all transactional and legal documentation throughout life of project.
Qualifications:
This role requires an extremely organized, detail-oriented paralegal with the ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment. Knowledge of commercial real estate transactions and land development processes is imperative, with the following additional specific qualities:
o 3–5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on complex commercial real estate transactions
o Strong comprehension of contract clauses and components
o Understanding of corporate entity structures
o Ability to think analytically
o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
o Process-driven, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Paralegal Certificate and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred
