Senior Construction Estimator
We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Estimator who will be responsible for creating budgets, pre-bid packages, and comprehensive estimates based on Design-Build and / or Construction Manager construction documents. As the successful candidate, you will work closely with general trades estimators and project management teams to develop schematics and construction document estimates, evaluate subcontractor bids and scopes of work, issue notices of awards to subcontractors and suppliers, prepare quantity surveys, and review project plans and specifications for both large and small projects. Your role will involve critically analyzing bid documents and working closely with management to communicate risks and opportunities. This is an office-based position, requiring periodic travel throughout Vermont and New Hampshire for project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews.
Reporting to the President, this position offers a starting salary range of $110,000-$140,000 per year. Additional compensation and benefits include up to a $10K sign-on bonus; discretionary annual bonus; employer 401K contributions; generous paid time off; and health, dental, vision, short / long term disability, life, and AD&D insurance.
Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced Preconstruction / Estimating professional with a minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial construction projects. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; we will consider an equivalent combination of education and work experience in construction estimating. The ideal candidate should possess strong skills in estimating, budgeting, negotiating, presenting, and interpersonal communication. A working knowledge of civil / site construction, foundation and structural systems, casework, doors, specialties, interior finishes, exterior building wall systems, mechanical and electrical systems, as well as sustainable and green building practices is desired.
