REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: This position has no direct reports
SUMMARY:
- To produce high-quality, saleable chemical products according to specification and customer needs. Train on and operate production equipment as needed by Reaxis Inc. Maintain a clean and safe work area by following safety rules, wearing PPE when appropriate, and pro-actively identifying hazards. Demonstrable experience in working in a team-based environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Train on and operate production equipment as needed by Reaxis Inc.
- Apply cooperative attitude and support during day-to-day operations in the form of multitasking including but not limited to assisting with production and packaging of material, plant housekeeping, and off-loading of trucks
- Follow written procedures and make products according to provided work instructions
- Ensure that product and packages are clean and properly labeled
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by following safety rules, wearing PPE when appropriate, and pro-actively identifying hazards
- Operating forklift trucks effectively
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Capacity to work safely, efficiently and with minimum supervision, once objectives are identified
- Willingness to follow various government policies, procedures and guidelines as deemed by the Company (e.g., ISO, DOT, etc.)
- Willingness to understand and demonstrate various government policies, procedures and guidelines as deemed by the supervisor. (e.g., ISO, DOT, etc.)
- Offer suggestions for company and departmental improvements (e.g., process and manufacturing improvements)
- Ability to work well with others (e.g., ability to build a healthy rapport with coworkers, customers, management: Show respect always and benevolence where necessary, etc.)
- Ability to maintain and demonstrate personal accountability /responsibility. (e.g., take personal ownership in the company’s success and accepts full responsibility for oneself and contribution as a team member:
- Ability to receive constructive criticism in a positive manner, etc.
- Willingness to ABL (always be learning/listening) and/or ABT (always be teaching)
- Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
- This is a full-time position, and standard hours of work and days are Monday through Friday,
- Standard Shifts are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. (1st shift) / 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (2nd shift.)
- This position starts on 2nd shift and is part of the union. However, training will occur on 1st shift until employee demonstrates sufficient work performance.
- Must be flexible in working occasional mandatory overtime during the weekends. For example, 1-2 weekends/shifts out of the month, as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
- This job operates in an Industrial setting.
- This role routinely operates manufacturing equipment such as. tanks, dryers, centrifuges, pumps, valves, piping, hoists, ladders, filters, hand tools, etc. This role occasionally uses standard equipment
PHYSICIAL DEMANDS:
- The physical demands described below, under the Physical, Sensory and Mental Requirements, are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
TRAVEL:
- This position does not require travel
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
- Industrial manufacturing experience required.
- Demonstrable experience in working in a team-based environment
- Willingness to work overtime/shifts.
- Ability to lift greater than 50 lbs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Chemical production experience.
- Experience operating a fork truck.
