The Role's Core Values
The Rebag Jewelry Authentication Team is seeking a Junior Fine Jewelry Authenticator looking to immerse themselves in a long-term career as a specialist in luxury jewelry authentication. This role includes a training plan where our experts will provide hands-on product knowledge and process training to develop and hone your authentication skillset. With expert 1:1 training, develop a baseline knowledge of authentication standards per brand, model, style, etc. Understand and assist in developing criteria for authentication. Assist in research to develop content and resources around authentication.
How We Measure Results
- Inspect jewelry to ensure authentication - utilizing reference guides, including Identifying, testing and authenticating jewelry using REBAG methodology and tools,
- Perform basic functions of jewelry cataloging, such as identifying gemstones, calculating gemstone weights, grading gemstones, testing metals, etc.
- Knowledge of brand identifiers, materials (i.e. metals, diamonds, color gemstones) and fabrication
- Improve product condition and value through external cleaning
- Identify and enter product attributes and specifications
- Surface or escalate all authenticity questions
- Participate in training, audits and meetings, as required
- Assist with inventory
What We Expect You to Bring To The Table
- At least one (preferably 2) year of experience in the jewelry field with knowledge and passion for gemology and jewelry history
- GIA Graduate Gemologist Degree or similar coursework
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
- Knowledge of jewelry history, design, manufacturing
- Knowledge of metal marks and identification
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume production environment
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
- Data entry skills and google suite skills
- Ability to work quickly with a high level of accuracy

Salary Range: $80,000 to 90,000 (based on experience)
