What are the responsibilities and job description for the MACHINIST position at Rebar Machine Service?
Rebar Machine Service is an OEM manufacturer of rebar fabrication equipment. RMS has been in business for over 30 years, with a staff of professional fabricators, machinists, and technicians. RMS has a full machine shop, welding fabrication shop, and an electronics production facility. We are currently seeking a reliable general job shop machinist to join our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check that all machinery is in good working order before set up
- Take precise measurements for cutting and shaping
- Plan proper sequence of tasks to complete assignment
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories or materials onto machines
- Set up, adjust and operate basic and specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations
- Monitor the run throughout the cycle, checking that specifications are met
- Measure, examine and test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications
- Maintain machines and tools
- Keep all work area clean and organized
- Follow safety standards at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist
- Must have great attention to detail and be extremely focused
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Must be able to pass a drug test(including marijuana)
Starting pay is $20-25/hour, depending on experience
60-day review for possible advancement
Eligible for benefits after 60 days of employment
