About Rebellion Records
Rebellion Records is one of the fastest-scaling independent labels in music, with offices in New York City and San Juan. Founded by multi-billion-streaming independent artist and entrepreneur PLVTINUM, and partnered with 10K Projects (Atlantic) and Warner Chappell, we’ve generated over 2 billion streams in the past year, produced multiple charting releases, and driven over 20 billion video views across TikTok, Reels, and Shorts.
We’re looking for a Head of Finance & Business Affairs to join our executive team. This is not a maintenance role - it’s a leadership opportunity to build infrastructure around our artist-first, marketing-driven business model as we continue doubling the roster every quarter. You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with high-level partners and joint ventures.
⸻
Responsibilities:
• Oversee royalties, revenue tracking, and deal accounting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely payouts across all income streams.
• Design and implement scalable systems for managing artist advances, marketing funds, and catalog valuation across the Rebellion Records portfolio.
• Draft and manage internal legal agreements using AI optimization tools—streamlining artist contracts, licensing terms, and brand partnership documentation.
• Interface directly with JV partners, including 10K Projects and Warner Chappell, and coordinate with global distribution teams to align financial and strategic outcomes.
• Lead corporate tax planning and entity optimization, maximizing post-tax profit through jurisdictional structuring, asset protection, and compliance.
• Develop predictive models to evaluate ROI on A&R signings, catalog acquisitions, and marketing investments.
• Utilize AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Notion AI) to automate financial workflows, legal reviews, and internal reporting.
• Provide financial strategy across new signings, artist campaigns, and long-term catalog development.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and reporting, integrating data-driven insights across operational and creative decision-making.
⸻
Requirements:
• Must have experience drafting and managing legal agreements related to music, media, or IP - specifically for internal use within a company or label.
• A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is strongly preferred.
• Bar admission is not required, as legal work is exclusively internal.
• Deep familiarity with royalty accounting, cash flow management, and licensing-based revenue models in music or adjacent industries.
• Strong analytical mindset and experience navigating growth-stage operational environments.
• Proficiency with AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Notion AI, Airtable, Zapier) preferred.
• Exceptionally organized, adaptive, and comfortable operating at startup speed.
• Must be available for hybrid work in Puerto Rico and/or NYC.
⸻
Rebellion is not a traditional label - we’re a fast-moving company built around virality, digital culture, and sharp execution. If you want to scale something meaningful and move fast, we want to hear from you.
