Rebound is looking for a full-time Anesthesia Technician within our Surgery Center. This position functions as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or medical provider. Our Anesthesia Technicians primarily assist anesthesiologists during intubation or administration of nerve blocks and as needed. This position maintains the anesthesia supplies, equipment and availability of non-controlled substance drugs for the surgical cases.
Responsibilities:
- Stock anesthesia carts on a daily basis with supplies and drugs based on established par levels.
- Check outdates on anesthesia carts and anesthesia machines prior to the end of the month.
- Replace expired drugs accordingly.
- Use the destock function of Pyxis to restock the anesthesia machines to designated PAR levels.
- Take all non-controlled drugs out of Pyxis bins at least quarterly and cleans bins.
- Document and submit paperwork and equipment in need of repair.
- Check glucometers every day (Code Cart & Anesthesia) and records results in WebQI.
- Help with room turnovers, including but not limited to taking out anesthesia garbage and helping make OR bed.
- Restock needles, syringes, blades, LMA's, medications, etc. between cases as needed.
- Assist anesthesiologist in the preparation of the patient, (placement of EKG leads, blood pressure cuff, SA O2 monitor and warming blanket, positioning of patient, if applicable) prior to induction; assist with intubating patient.
- Additional duties as needed.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year experience as an Anesthesia Assistant required.
- BLS Certification required.
- MA-R State Registration preferred. If you do not currently obtain a MA registration, Rebound Surgery Center will assist you with this process.
- Associate of arts degree, or related field desired.
- Good communication skills, positive attitude with good team-building skills
