Position Summary
The Central Florida Grants Specialist supports RTTB’s fundraising efforts by identifying, developing, and managing funding opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and programs. Reporting to the Grant Development Manager, this role involves research, proposal writing, relationship management, compliance monitoring, and reporting to ensure the successful acquisition and administration of grant funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Grant Development Manager to implement a strategic plan for securing funding.
- Identify, research, and evaluate new funding opportunities from foundations, governmental agencies, corporations, and community-based organizations.
- Prepare and submit compelling letters of inquiry, applications, and reports.
- Track and monitor revenue goals, assisting in financial updates and budget development.
- Analyze funding trends to identify new opportunities and ensure alignment with RTTB’s programs.
- Maintain accurate records of grant applications, awards, reporting requirements, and donor correspondence.
- Develop and sustain relationships with grantors, donors, and other key stakeholders through targeted outreach and stewardship.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure grant compliance, timely reporting, and effective use of funds.
- Attend special projects, donor events, and other fundraising initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, English, journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field (required).
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, prospect research, or a related field. Equivalent experience and skills may be considered.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, grant cycles, and case development for funding support.
- Proven ability to write and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Experience managing multiple projects, applications, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to represent RTTB professionally in all interactions with funders, stakeholders, and community partners.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
