The Fuel Fund Program is committed to supporting families and individuals in Orange County who do not qualify for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) with their heating costs. This program is exclusively available to U.S. citizens or legal residents residing in Orange County and has specific eligibility requirements, including income criteria. The Fuel Fund Program Assistant plays a vital role in assisting the Program Coordinator to achieve the program's goals by providing essential administrative and clerical support. This is a part-time role, approximately 15 hours per week, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, and preparing materials for workshops and outreach activities.
- Communicate effectively with clients both in person and over the phone, demonstrating strong verbal and written skills.
- Conduct periodic follow-ups with potential clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected for the Fuel Fund Program.
- Complete initial intakes and request documentation from clients, either over the phone or during office visits.
- Maintain and update client files, entering information into the database and providing follow-up on requested documentation.
- Adhere to professional attire and agency dress code, maintaining a professional demeanor and workplace-appropriate language.
- Exhibit initiative, eagerness to learn, and contribute ideas to improve teamwork and job duties.
- Uphold high ethical standards and promote a positive and productive work environment through teamwork.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
Qualifications
- Preferred two years of office administrative experience.
