Join our dedicated team as a Parole Re-Entry Case Manager, where you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals transitioning back into the community. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by assisting clients with case management, transportation, and community engagement. The role reports to the Director of Newburgh Services and requires collaboration with a dynamic team to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.
Responsibilities- Assist clients in establishing positive community activities and connections within their immediate community.
- Review forms of pending parolees to identify client needs prior to release and participate in initial assessments and reentry release plans, including housing, DSS services, treatment, employment, and familial supports.
- Develop short and long-term reentry plans, including counseling, referrals, case conferencing, and collaboration with service providers for parolees.
- Work closely with team members to ensure all are updated on client progress, update participant case files, complete consent forms, and track compliance in a timely manner.
- Facilitate groups, including community meetings, conduct joint case reviews with RECAP or other programs, and maintain client confidentiality in accordance with agency policy.
- Operate a vehicle to provide client transportation to initial reports, job fairs, and job-related activities with other RECAP programs.
- Associate’s degree or coursework in pursuit of an associate’s degree.
- Experience in the human services field.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of the Criminal Justice and Social Services System.
- Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of Orange County’s diverse population.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, good organizational, time management, client service, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion.
- Ability to develop household budgets for clients.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive on company business.
- Availability for crisis intervention rotation calls.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
