What are the responsibilities and job description for the SNUG Outreach Supervisor position at RECAP?
SNUG is a community-focused initiative based on the nationally recognized Cure Violence Model, targeting youth ages 14-24 who are at risk of gun violence. Our mission is to end gun violence by identifying and engaging city youth most at risk through education and community outreach. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support outreach workers, providing guidance and coordinating team activities.
- Prepare daily plans and assignments for the outreach team.
- Conduct daily huddles to ensure team alignment and motivation.
- Perform data checks for employees to maintain accurate records.
- Spend time in the field with each Outreach Worker to provide hands-on support.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
- Meet with each program participant monthly and document the meetings.
- Plan and participate in SNUG events to promote community engagement.
- Assist in planning and participating in shooting responses to address incidents effectively.
Qualifications
- Two years of work experience in street outreach and case management.
- Intimate knowledge of the Newburgh area or residency is required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
The role requires the use of a motor vehicle, driving on city streets and highways, and exposure to inclement weather and traffic. Employees must take all necessary precautions and adhere to all laws while in these environments. The job demands consistent punctuality and attendance, with most work time spent walking and standing.
