Position Summary : The Design Validation Engineer I is responsible for conducting structural analysis of the overall seat design and individual components. Position is an integral part of the design validation team that defines and organizes the validation process to ensure a seat meets the full spectrum of structural and body mechanics impact criteria.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned :
- Perform Weights engineering analysis that includes calculating weight, moment of inertia and center of gravity of aircraft seats for current and future projects.
- Your area of responsibility will include documenting and presenting the results, as well as archiving data in a weight database and releasing it according to the defined processes.
- Perform Interface loads and forces / deflections analysis that will help in identifying critical seat configuration.
- By use of hand calculations or numerical stress analysis, support design validation team in validation of seat design using FEA software.
- Support in evaluation of test results and drawings with recommendation of design improvements in conjunction with engineering staff.
Requirements
Education / Experience :
A minimum of four year B.S degree is required in Aerospace / Mechanical / other engineering fields.
