Job Summary:
Want to kickstart your development career at a creative agency that pushes boundaries? Recess Creative is looking for an energetic and motivated Junior Developer to join our team in Cleveland, OH. You'll work alongside experienced developers to bring innovative digital experiences to life for our diverse clients. This is a hybrid role requiring weekly in-person collaboration with our team.
Responsibilities:
Development & Collaboration:
- Assist senior developers in building and maintaining websites, web applications, and other digital projects.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions on architecture and best practices.
- Learn and apply new technologies and frameworks to enhance your skills and contribute to project goals.
- Collaborate with designers and other team members to ensure seamless integration of design and functionality.
Testing & Troubleshooting:
- Conduct thorough testing of code and identify and resolve bugs.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues across various projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Bootcamp Certification in Development or a related field
- Solid understanding of fundamental programming concepts
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced agency environment
- Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, etc)
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Knowledge of HubSpot and/or Shopify a plus
- Familiarity with responsive design principles
- Understanding of basic design principles
