Carolina International Trucks is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Parts Manager to oversee the efficient and profitable operation of our parts department. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medium and heavy-duty parts, inventory management, and customer service. This role is critical to ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Job Summary:
The Parts Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all activities related to the parts department. This includes purchasing, receiving, storing, issuing, and managing inventory of parts and accessories. The Parts Manager will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize sales and profitability, while maintaining excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:
- Forecast and manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing obsolescence and maximizing turnover.
- Maintain an inventory control system, including cycle counting and regular stock checks.
- Analyze inventory data to identify slow-moving or obsolete items and develop strategies for liquidation.

Purchasing:
- Source and purchase parts and accessories from approved vendors, negotiating favorable pricing and terms.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate vendor performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders.

Sales & Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Identify and fulfill customer parts needs, providing accurate and timely information.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase parts sales and profitability.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively.

Team Management:
- Supervise and train parts department staff, including assigning tasks and evaluating performance.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, address issues, and share best practices.

Operations:
- Oversee the receiving, storing, and issuing of parts and accessories.
- Ensure the parts department is organized and clean, adhering to safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all parts transactions.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, gross profit, and customer satisfaction.

Budgeting & Reporting:
- Develop and manage the parts department budget.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on parts sales, inventory levels, and other key metrics.
- Analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years in Heavy and Medium Truck Parts department.
- 5 years Management experience.
- General accounting knowledge and inventory management skills, well rounded knowledge of dealership computer systems and programs.
- Experience working with DMS system.
- Strong computer and phone skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft office programs and reports.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Professional appearance and work ethic.
- Ambitious, goal oriented, and able to work within a dynamic environment.
- Requires thorough knowledge of all phases of the parts department.
