A non-exempt medical office position responsible for maintaining the front office and representing the practice with professionalism. This position requires multi-tasking effortlessly, prioritizing efficiently, handling patient requests
Duties
- Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the practice.
- Adheres to the HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries.
- Call patients to confirm appointments and or reschedule appointments.
- Verify insurance information and assist with billing processes.
- Maintain electronic medical records and ensure accuracy of patient data.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
- Check patients in verifying demographics information and update system if needed from Intake packet completed by patient/guardian.
- Evaluates daily schedules to accommodate patient flow and minimize missed appointments.
- Completes referrals, Insurance, prior authorizations as needed.
- Collects co-pays and patient payments.
- Complete daily job functions in a timely matter.
- Performs other tasks directed by supervisor.
Skills
- Bilingual is mandatory: English & Spanish or English & Haitian Creole
- - CPR / AED / First-Aid Certification
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using computer systems and software applications
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Previous experience in a dental office or as a dental receptionist is a plus
- Knowledge of customer support principles and practices
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
