RecNation is the largest institutional owner of specialized boat and rv facilities in the country. The company was founded to meet the burgeoning storage requirements of the owners of recreational and marine vehicles. The company caters to the needs of the outdoor enthusiast community by providing highly secure and professionally maintained facilities that provide superior customer service. It is growing rapidly and has close to 70 locations across the country with plans to expand to another 250 locations.
Job Role Summary :
The VP of Finance will play a critical leadership role in driving financial strategy and operations across the organization. Reporting to the CFO, this individual will oversee the Treasury functions, support the Controller to ensure an efficient book close process, and lead the strategic long-term planning to align with our evolving real estate asset class. In addition, the VP of Finance will manage the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) function, supporting the acquisition and integration of over 250 facilities in the next 3 to 5 years. This position is key to building a high-performing team of financial analysts, improving forecasting processes, and bridging actual results versus expectations. The VP will also be a key player for the company, helping to communicate our financial story to investors and stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Act as a key external interface with investors and lenders, playing a crucial role in securing an additional $1 billion in equity and debt financings.
- Demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit with a self-starter mindset, combined with an inquisitive, creative, committed, and driven approach to problem-solving and innovation.
- Oversee Treasury Functions : Manage cash flow, liquidity, banking relationships, and financing strategies to ensure optimal capital structure.
- Support the Controller : Drive an efficient book close process, ensuring high quality accurate results are finalized by Workday 5.
- Oversee Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) : Support the M&A function, partnering with the VP of M&A, as one of our top strategic focus areas. Support the acquisition and integration of 250 new facilities over the next 3 to 5 years, ensuring financial due diligence, integration strategies, and alignment with overall business goals.
- Lead Strategic Long-Term Planning : Oversee the long-term (5 year) planning process to align with the company’s business model in the real estate sector.
- Enhance Monthly Forecasting : Improve detailed annual planning process along with the monthly re-forecasting processes. Drive a process whereby variances between actual results and forecasts and be succinctly narrated and enumerated
- Team Development : Build, shape and develop a high-functioning team of young financial analysts to support company goals.
Qualifications and Requirements :

o Deep understanding of accounting principles, finance, and financial reporting required
for real estate assets.
o Proven ability to oversee treasury and cash management functions.
o Ability to develop and manage a high-functioning team that fosters development.
o Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills, with a track record of leveraging technology to drive improvements.
o Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with both internal teams and external investors.
