What are the responsibilities and job description for the eCommerce Marketplace Manager position at RECON GROUP LLP?
As an eCommerce Marketplace Manager, you will be the key point of contact for partners at third-party and/or our first-party marketplaces. You will work to improve content quality, reduce defects, and leverage quantity and brand to promote our goods online (through marketplace promotions or partnering with our marketing team). Your success will be measured by your ability to achieve weekly B2C sales targets, maintain and grow healthy relationships with marketplaces, and know/leverage available and prospective inventory to fuel business growth. You can negotiate fees and prices with marketplaces and our internal pricing team to fuel profitability and growth. You will be prescribed a marketing budget and partner with ReturnPro's marketing department to execute that on selected SKUs, categories, and brands.
- Act as the key point of contact for third-party marketplaces related to partnerships, promotions, event planning, escalations, fee negotiations, and problem-solving.
- Ensure listings are published and quality is acceptable by checking on listings manually (for buy box and publication), filing trouble tickets with marketplaces, and other duties prescribed by this role.
- Seek opportunities for brands, categories, and even SKUs to promote, feature, and focus on by marketplace.
- Collaborate with the merchandising and pricing team to conservatively pursue buy boxes or to update pricing as required for promotions or market research.
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote products to increase B2C sales.
- Contribute to the sales target planning for B2C channels and use skills in eCommerce channels to achieve the prescribed targets.
- Use third-party marketplace portals to track metrics, SKU publications, trouble tickets, and more. Partner with ReturnPro's supply chain operation to solve issues with metrics.
- Work closely with the dispositions and analysis team to put the right inventory on B2C channels, including new products potentially pulled from other dispositions.
- Actively monitor sell-through, weeks on hand, pricing, buy box, publication, errors, promotions, and more to ensure targets are met.
- A bachelors degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in eCommerce, working with Amazon, eBay, or Walmart, is required, and a history of success and growth is demonstrated.
- Above-average skills in Microsoft Excel (V/X Lookup, If statements, Pivot Tables), Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word. PowerBI experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport and engage effectively with prospects.
- Energetic, motivated, and persistent. Able to handle rejection and stay focused on achieving goals. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
