Job Overview
The Heavy Equipment Operator is a crucial member of our team at RECON, responsible for operating various types of powered construction equipment. The successful candidate will be expected to operate excavators, bulldozers, off-road trucks, and other heavy machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
Salary Range
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour. Actual salary will be based on relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
About the Role
- Daily Operations: Perform pre-inspection and ongoing maintenance checks while operating equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Site Safety: Observe and comply with all company and site-specific safety policies, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and frequent improvements or changes to the Job Safety Analysis Plan (JSAP).
- Equipment Maintenance: Report all equipment maintenance issues to the superintendent and perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- OSHA Compliance: Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations regarding excavation methods and practices.
- Communication: Communicate professionally and respectfully with others, including interpreting hand signals and visual contact.
- Physical Demands: Able to work independently with limited supervision, read survey stakes for alignment and grading, and perform duties of equipment operator while using different levels of PPE.
