What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entertainment Specialist / Sales position at Record-A-Hit?
Record-A-Hit Entertainment (RAH) is a full-service party rental equipment provider and specializes in entertaining people at corporate, high school, college, private residential and trade show events. Record-A-Hit was established in 1986 by Rob Broms when Karaoke was becoming popular. RAH was frequently hired to do Karaoke and subsequently asked to record each performance, hence the name Record-A-Hit. What originated as a karaoke company on the North Side of Chicago soon grew to include inflatables, portable roller-skating rinks, rides, photo booths, arcade games and now over 350 unique attractions. RAH’s reputation grew as an ethical, fun and dependable company that created events for communities, schools, individuals, park districts, villages and corporations. RAH offices and warehouse, are now located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and we serve clients nationwide!
In 2024, RAH provided attractions for over 1,800 events. In 2025, RAH will be celebrating 39 years of being in business.
As we continue to grow we are looking for for a Sales Representative or as we like to call our sales team members, Entertainment Specialists, who is ready to be part of an industry leader that helps create memories for our clients by providing the best attractions to enhance their events. This position is full-time and includes attending after hour networking events, seasonal tradeshows and rare visits with your clients on weekends during larger events. After the initial training period is completed the option to work from home one day a week will be reviewed with the opportunity to add WFH days as your experience grows. Candidate must live in Chicagoland area.
The candidate must be interested in wanting to bring a fun and fresh approach to an industry filled with opportunities. You will have a unique opportunity to work with existing clients and create new relationships, ultimately providing customized solutions that in return help you reach your revenue goal.

- If this describes you then we would love for you to apply…Comfortable working with a list of existing clients, contacts, and event planners who are in need of attractions for their future events. Have a farmer mentality who can help grow and manage key accounts. Meet with clients, over the phone, in person, and or via TEAMS to review discovery questions that will help you be seen as the expert in providing solutions for your clients’ needs. Have a hunter mentality and be willing to travel and attend after-hour networking events, tradeshows, luncheons etc… Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Become your clients go-to expert in our industry. Have the ability to sit and or stand for long periods of time at your desk and at events / expos / and or tradeshows.
Achieve Sales Targets:
- Meet or exceed sales targets through effective prospecting, lead generation, cold calling, networking, face-to-face meetings, and closing deals.
- Have knowledge of our 350 attractions and what products and services we offer to clients.
- Have a general understanding of local pricing for 4-hour events.
- Be able to navigate RentMaster (proposal builder) confidently to search inventory, review client information, duplicate orders, upload notes, review schedules, and create quotes.
- Utilizing RentMaster, develop compelling proposals that address your client’s needs.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement sales strategies.
- CRM = Customer Relations Management
- Utilize HubSpot to manage customer interactions, track sales activities, and maintain accurate records.
- Detailed and timely client follow-up using HubSpot.
- Daily check-in using HubSpot dashboard to make sure all follow-up tasks are completed.
Relationship Building
- Using a consultative approach promote and sell RAH’s attractions and services to previous and new clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their entertainment needs, and providing custom solutions.
- Grow existing relationships and become your client's go-to expert in the entertainment and hospitality industry
Travel / Networking / Client Engagement:
- Prospecting within the event and hospitality industry, colleges, schools, B2B, and other industries including cold calling, networking, lunches, and client visits.
- Travel to national trade shows and expos to represent Record-A-Hit, explore business opportunities, and meet vendors. Travel may include trade shows/expos that take place over weekends as well as consecutive weeks. Approximately 5% -10% yearly travel.
- Attend networking events which may take place during and or after hours to expand the company's presence in entertainment marketing. In addition, attend networking events that may take place over the weekend. This includes trade industry-related organizations such as MPI, NACE, ILEA, etc. Approximately 5%-10% yearly networking events.
- On rare occasions, work weekends to visit clients during their events, ensuring client satisfaction and strengthening relationships. On rare occasions during off-hours, the crew or office staff may have questions about specific event/client details that you are managing. It is appreciated that you be available to answer emergency event questions during off-hours/ weekends.

- Be a coachable individual who can be trained in the RAH systems so you can provide accurate, compelling, and detailed proposals to address our clients’ needs.
- Confidence in having a hunter mentality to increase new business while prospecting within the entertainment and hospitality industry, schools, colleges, B2B, and many other industries in need of solutions to enhance their event(s).
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in entertainment/hospitality/travel or related industries.
