We are seeking a second Co-Director of Nursing to oversee administrative operations and provide oversight to nursing staff at our 42 bed skilled nursing facility located in Gardner, KS. Our facility operates one SNF that is seperated into two distinct buildings. This is a Co-DON roll for one of the two, as there is already one DON in place. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the daily needs of a skilled nursing facility and be well versed in federal and state regulatory processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure nursing staff are trained in delivering proper care, the facility is staffed successfully, and the facility is always compliant. A successful candidate will be an energetic and strong leader who is capable of being both sympathetic and authoritative and good at setting boundaries with staff and patients alike.Responsibilities : Train and educate all nursing staff.Arrange and host nursing staff in-services and in-person skill competencies.Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.Be capable of handling multiple issues at once.Understand the regulatory issues facing a long-term care facility.Have adept interpersonal and communication skills.Manage the hiring, disciplining, and firing of the nursing staff.Be available to speak to patients and families on an intimate level.Run and direct the clinical survey process.Assist with running mock surveys, audits, and provide clinical guidance for the creation of policies and procedures as needed.Lead morning clinical meeting.Be able to report to the state regulatory agency as needed or requested.Attend Care Conferences, Medicare Meeting, High Risk, and QAPI.Qualifications : Must be a RN that is able to practice in the state of KSGraduate of an accredited nursing programAbility to pass a criminal background checkPrevious DON experience in a LTC facility requiredMust be extremely knowledgeable about state and federal nursing home regulationsWilling to work with a diverse population of seniors and those with disabilitiesRecent LTC / SNF DON (Required)Benefits : Facility paid health insuranceReferral bonus for bringing on nursing and ancillary staffImmediate PTO accrualPaid CEU'sPaid trainingJob Type : Full-timeInsurance : 401(k)Dental insuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insurancePhysical setting : Long Term Care and Short Term CareSchedule : Monday to FridayOn callGardner, KS 66030 : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location : In person
