JOB DESCRIPTION
Recovery Center of Ohio’s mission is to help individuals recover from mental health and substance use disorders. We are an agency committed to quality gender-responsive, trauma-informed care to clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. The Outreach Specialist seeks to establish business-to-business relationships by networking with community providers and creating a referral network where clients are referred to our agency for substance use treatment services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish direct relationships with clients in the community and assist with self-referral into services
- Establishing relationships with shelters, transitional housing programs, probation and parole, local hospitals, inpatient facilities, etc. for networking and referrals
- Use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to work collaboratively with clients and internal and external team members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery
- Remain in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, including all of the agencies policies and procedures and Quality Assurance Plan
- Participate in all assigned meetings, staff development, and training as required
Skills required
- Knowledge of community relations and outreach experience
- Knowledge of goals and objectives of various public services and programs
- Knowledge of community resources for the homeless
- Knowledge of local community needs and public resources
- Experience in outreach and recruitment program management
Requirements
- HS diploma or GED
- Related Associate’s degree preferred
- Community outreach experience
- Strong interpersonal and engagement skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to support the agency’s mission and philosophy, and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity and workplace harmony
- Value for and ability to deliver excellent customer service
Additional Job Requirements:
- Must have the ability to effectively hear and communicate with other employees, the public, and persons served.
- Must have reliable transportation, have/maintain valid driver’s license, and maintain adequate automobile insurance.
- Travel is required as part of this position.
- Ability to operate telephone, fax machine, and computer hardware/software, etc.
- Must have the ability to write in a manner that is legible/readable/understandable.
- Willingness to work in a high stress environment that is driven by team performance.
