Job Title: Intake Specialist
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Department: Recovery Point Behavioral Health
Reports to: Clinical Director
Summary/objective: This position provides assessments for all clients receiving Behavioral Health services. Serve as the primary liaison between adult clients with mental health and substance use disorders and the rest of the treatment team including the lead therapist, peer recovery support specialists and any other staff involved in client’s care. This position will be part of a supportive, team-based approach that models collaborative, solution-based problem solving, and authentic communication.

- Meet with clients upon entry to Behavioral Health Program and complete an ASAM assessment.
- Clients will be from both in center and our outpatient programs
- Facilitate and participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning
- With a wholistic view of the client’s world, counselor is a key advocate, communicator, collaborator, and coordinator of recovery services
- Coordination of outside supports
- Assist with arranging outside appointments during treatment
- Obtain and document client consents, release-of-information forms, Member Rights forms.
- Build a strong network of outside service partners
- All other duties as assigned
Education/Qualifications: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a human services field (social work degree preferred) or be a registered nurse. Master's degree is preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Have the ability to communicate professionally with professionals, maintain documentation. Possess excellent organizational skills in order to have an enduring and positive impact in the lives of our patients struggling with substance use disorder. Have the ability to maintain a professional, solution-based demeanor with other professionals involved with clients.
Work Environment: Must have excellent communication skills, computer skills, and the ability to respond to various situations that may occur.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk and hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, reach, and stretch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May occasionally be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
