Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in administration and discharge of clients in a withdrawal management facility setting.
- Check in, secure, and return client's medication, belongings, and valuables per policy and procedures.
- Maintain accurate client records per policies and procedures.
- Monitor client's vitals based on their withdrawal from substances
- Connect clients to drug and alcohol treatment and residential and outpatient programs.
- Help clients understand treatment options.
- Help clients explore financial alternatives.
- Connect clients to local programs such SMART Team in Frisco.
- Connect clients to additional community resources, such as Medicaid enrollment or housing options.
Skills and Abilities
- Work with clients facing homelessness, substance abuse, mental health issues, and/or complex chronic medical conditions.
- Knowledge of de-escalation methods, or ability to be trained.
- Ability to use a client electronic record system, or ability to be trained.
- Must be able to function in a team setting, be flexible in attitude, and desire to work with individuals seeking detoxification.
- Ability to understand and follow oral directions.
- Provide assessments, service planning, referral and advocacy to/for referred individuals.
- Provide written documentation to complete all necessary chart work in accordance with policy on admissions treatment and discharges in a timely manner.
- Maintain client confidentiality according to Recovery Resources policies.
- Remain current in knowledge of community resources and how to access those resources.
- Keep supervisors apprised of all critical or emergency situations.
- Responds to emergency/crisis or walk-in situations calmly, rationally and in accordance with Agency policy and procedures.
- Participate in in-service training and orientation and provide consultation and education services to the community as requested by supervisor/administration.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled mandatory staff meetings and in-services and individual program planning as needed.
- Provide in-office and/or virtual warm hand-offs from clinical staff/physicians, if appropriate.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) or Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) preferred but not required. We will pay for training.
- First Aid training is desirable.
- Moderate computer literacy
- Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain in the first month of employment.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, reference check, and background check.
- Must adhere to agency’s non-discrimination policy.
