IT Director of Infrastructure & Security – Safeguarding Systems, Driving Innovation
Are you a strategic IT leader with a passion for building secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure? As the IT Director of Infrastructure & Security, you’ll lead the design, implementation, and management of a robust IT ecosystem that ensures seamless operations and data protection across our healthcare organization.
In this critical leadership role, you’ll oversee network stability, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity frameworks, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations. Your expertise in risk mitigation and security strategy will be vital in protecting sensitive patient data while optimizing IT performance in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the planning, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud systems, storage, and end-user devices.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of systems to support clinical and administrative operations.
- Lead the transition and management of hybrid or fully cloud-based environments, optimizing cost and efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to procure, implement, and support hardware, software, and services.
- Cybersecurity Leadership:
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect electronic health records (EHR), patient data, and organizational assets. Implement and monitor advanced security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and endpoint protection.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, and security analysts.
- Set performance goals, provide training, and foster a culture of accountability and innovation. Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with clinical, operational, and executive teams to align IT initiatives with organizational priorities.
- Strategic Planning:
- Manage IT budgets, forecast resource needs, and justify investments in infrastructure and security enhancements.
- Compliance & Disaster Recovery:
- Ensure all IT systems and processes adhere to federal, state, and industry-specific regulations. Design and test disaster recovery and business continuity plan to minimize downtime and data loss in emergencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree.
Experience:
- Required: Ten (10) years of IT infrastructure & Security experience with five (5) or more years in a leadership role.
- Required: Proven expertise in evaluating and implementing enterprise IT platforms (cloud, networking, storage, and security).
- Required: Oversight of Security Program with vCISO and SOC implementation with MSP.
- Required: Excellent Project Management skills to oversee the implementation of large-scale projects.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency with Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security offerings.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, ARM templates, PowerShell, or CLI for automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
- Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and tools like Azure Sentinel or third-party SIEM solutions.
- Familiarity with hybrid environments integrating Azure with on-premises infrastructure (e.g., Windows Server, VMware).
