How you make a difference:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant plays a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric care. Under the guidance of clinical leadership and psychiatrists, this position provides psychiatric assessments, consultations, and diagnostic services, along with expert treatment and medication management. You’ll be a vital part of our team, offering support during crises and helping individuals navigate their mental health journey. By adhering to established policies and state guidelines, you’ll ensure high-quality care while making a real, positive impact on the lives of those you serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Psychiatric Assessments: Completes initial and comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including interviews, mental status exams, and treatment plans.
- Treatment and Discharge Planning: Develops, reviews, and updates individualized treatment and discharge plans with the multidisciplinary team.
- Psychiatric Treatment: Prescribes psychotropic drugs and uses other treatment modalities in accordance with practice guidelines.
- Ongoing Care and Monitoring: Provides daily care through rounds, patient education, and consultation, while assessing treatment responses and progress.
- Documentation and Compliance: Accurately documents services in the medical record in accordance with state laws, TJC, CMS, and facility policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Required: Master’s degree from a nurse practitioner or physician assistant’s program from an accredited University.
- Required: Clinical rotations applicable to training program.
Experience:
- Required: Experience providing psychiatric services.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Required: License as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant in the state of practice.
- Required: Current DEA License.
