As a Psychiatric Safety Officer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining a secure and supportive environment. You'll oversee safety and security throughout the facility, ensuring the well-being of everyone on-site. From monitoring the perimeter to ensuring accountability within the facility, your vigilance and commitment to safety will make a lasting difference. Key Responsibilities:
Ensures Security of Assigned Post
Maintains vigilance to prevent emergencies and elopements by ensuring the security of the assigned post.Monitors and Controls Communication & Surveillance Systems
Manages systems such as fire alarms, CCTV, and two-way radios to ensure smooth operations and security.Observes and Monitors Behavior
Observes individuals’ behaviors both inside and outside the facility, identifying potential security breaches and implementing safety measures.Responds to Emergency Calls
Quickly intervenes to de-escalate aggressive behavior, prevent elopements, and assist clinical staff to prevent harm or injury.Searches for Contraband and Unauthorized Items
Participates in searching individuals and areas for contraband, ensuring security standards are met.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: Must meet minimum age requirements as defined by the State certification/licensing authority or contract.
- Preferred: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
