How you make a difference:
The Residential Services Coordinator III (RSCL) is an entry-level position responsible for providing direct care to a specific patient population at a facility, under the supervision of personnel delivering treatment. The RSCL also provides non-supervisory leadership and guidance to Residential Services Coordinators (RSCs) to ensure that job responsibilities are carried out appropriately. Key job responsibilities include providing direct care to patients, maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Residential Services Coordinator III performs a wide range of safety assignments throughout the facility, while also providing non-supervisory leadership and guidance to RSC's performing similar duties.
- The RSCL engages with patients in monitoring their environment and well-being, implementing de-escalation strategies and safety plans, and performing regular rounds and wellness checks.
- They control ingress and egress points, monitor medication distribution, and track environmental concerns to ensure a safe environment for all patients.
- The RSCL interacts with the public when required and provides emergency responses to address patient safety, employing verbal de-escalation techniques rather than physical force whenever possible.
- They also attend and contribute to treatment plans, write reports, and follow policies and procedures to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Prior work experience with psychiatric patients in a hospital or secure mental health setting preferred, with a focus on patient safety.
- Must be willing to participate in extensive, ongoing training regarding serious mental illness, de-escalation and intervention techniques, core strategies, patient safety and trauma-informed care.
