How you make a difference

Take Charge of Safety and Security as a Shift Supervisor!

 

As a Shift Supervisor, you’ll be at the helm of safety and security for the entire facility, leading a dedicated team of security staff. Your role will be crucial in coordinating day-to-day operations, overseeing the custody and control of individuals served, and ensuring the safety of the entire facility. You’ll take ownership of building security, company property, and maintain a secure, safe environment at all times. Your leadership will set the tone for a well-organized, protected atmosphere for both staff and individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Development and ImplementationAssists in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and regulations for the custody, security, and treatment of individuals served.

  • Shift Briefings and Staff CoordinationConducts shift briefings, communicates updates on individuals served, and manages employee attendance, appearance, and post assignments.

  • Employee Supervision and DevelopmentDirects employee work, including hiring, evaluating performance, training, development, and managing disciplinary actions, including terminations.

  • Crisis Management and DiffusionResponds to unusual occurrences, provides appropriate assistance in case of injury, illness, or emotional trauma, and diffuses critical situations involving individuals served.

  • Search and Movement OversightMonitors search procedures, individuals served movement, resolves complaints, and takes immediate corrective action for security employees when necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.                     

Experience:

  • Required: Three (3) years of experience working in a healthcare or mental health treatment facility.
  • Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred: One (1) year of supervisory experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Required: Must be a Certified Correctional Officer as established and required by the applicable State Commission, if required by state.
  • Required: Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
