Position Summary Detox Technician
As a Detox Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals undergoing detoxification from substances. Your primary responsibility will include providing general patient support, charting, restocking items and supplies, cleaning, and laundry. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of addiction and withdrawal processes, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor patients during detoxification process and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare professionals (if applicable) to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support to patients during the detoxification process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of treatments, observations, and progress.
- Interact with patients to assist with various needs, including getting food, snacks, and other items.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment to ensure patient safety and infection control, including cleaning communal areas and doing laundry.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with the detoxification process.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and providing compassionate care.
- Understanding of legal and ethical considerations related to substance abuse treatment and patient care.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required.
Schedule:
12 hour shifts (7 am to 7:30 pm)
Rotating Schedule - Saturday, Sunday, Monday
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
Compensation:
$19/ hr base pay shift differentials for weekend
Benefits:
Medical insurance base tier premium is paid 100% by the company
Dental and Vision Insurance premium is paid 100% by the company
Holiday Pay (holidays worked are paid at 1.5x the base rate)
PTO accrual and Sick Time accrual and
401k and 401k matching of up to 3%
**Position is contingent on passing an OHA Background check and successful completion of a urine analysis (UA) after accepting job offer**
