Description
To perform a variety of functions to ensure that the Association facilities are used only by members and qualified guests; to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job’s overall responsibilities.)
- Greet members and guests in a courteous manner.
- Using a Point of Sale (POS) computer system, check members and guests into facility.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Perform emergency clean ups when Facility Assistants are unavailable.
- Perform walk abouts throughout the assigned facility per individual site requirements.
- Set up and maintain equipment in assigned area in a safe operating condition.
- Create and request maintenance or repair orders as needed.
- Ensure facility rules are followed by members and their guest’s ensuring admittance follows guidelines related to guests.
- Call 911 in emergency situations and assist emergency medical and fire personnel in locating members in need and helping with evacuations.
- Maintain awareness of the location of life saving equipment.
- Respond to inquiries from members of the community, staff, guests.
- Explain facility rules and guidelines.
- As necessary, resolve complaints and/or know when to escalate a concern to supervisors as necessary.
- Replenish supplies and materials as needed.
- Ensure all recreation areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Maintain a consistent record of acceptable attendance and punctuality according to policy guidelines.
- Dependent upon assigned shift, may be required to open and/or close the assigned area.
- Specific job duties when assigned to the R.H. Johnson facility:
- Sell guest cards using the POS system.
- Sell food and light snack items using POS system.
- Must obtain and maintain a current food handler permit.
- Balance the cash drawer at end of shift.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have computer knowledge and the ability to perform simple computer functions and process simple sales transactions.
LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS Must be able to read, write and speak English. Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, balance, use hands to finger, handle, grasp, pull, push, or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulders, talk, hear, ability to taste and smell. May need to work, briefly, in outdoor areas.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 20 pounds or more with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
