The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) is a vibrant nonprofit organization on a mission to make fishing and boating a favorite pastime for all! We're dedicated to preserving the nation’s aquatic resources while inspiring all Americans to dive into the joys of fishing and boating. Our national campaign, Take Me Fishing™, is designed to reel in people of all backgrounds and get them hooked on these life-giving outdoor activities.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager of Industry Programs & Partnerships to join our fun and dynamic team in Alexandria, VA. You'll be working closely with the Senior Director of Industry Engagement to support the development and implementation of strategies to support fishing and boating industry stakeholders in their recruitment, retention, and reactivation ("R3") initiatives, while also collaborating with our Government Engagement team to support state and federal stakeholder R3 initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders to support the development of exciting programs and partnerships that make it easy for all Americans to experience the fun of fishing and boating.
  • Develop and implement an industry events strategy to include sponsorships and benefits, oversee event logistics including travel, materials shipments, etc. Attend industry stakeholder events to promote RBFF’s programs and resources – 30% travel anticipated (adventure awaits!).
  • Facilitate and manage third-party research to better understand what our industry stakeholders need to keep their R3 efforts thriving. Utilize these research findings to help craft and execute innovative pilot programs and R3 strategies (with a focus on retention) ensuring that our stakeholders remain engaged and enthusiastic about efforts to increase fishing and boating participation.
  • Collaborate with the in-house team and partner associations to design and deliver engaging training and educational programs to support industry stakeholder R3 efforts, making learning fun and impactful.
  • Develop and leverage industry connections to support RBFF programs, events and initiatives, including sponsorships and in-kind donations (e.g., equipment, giveaways, etc.).
  • Collaborate on PR, marketing & communications strategies that build buzz around RBFF’s mission, programs and resources among industry stakeholders. Support the development of R3 case studies, learnings, and best practices nationally.
  • Support the Sr. Director of Industry Engagement with strategic planning, budgeting, board meeting preparation, and tracking results to keep our initiatives on course.
  • Work in tandem with the full Stakeholder Engagement Team to ensure our program and outreach efforts are in sync.


Required Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales/marketing, partnership/program management, account management, communications, project management or equivalent experience.
  • Degree in advertising, sales and marketing, communications, management, or related field; a master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in building and executing successful, research-driven programs and strategies.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the knack to engage and influence diverse groups and individuals.
  • Strong writing, editing, presenting, and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to market/sell ideas, products, and services to a variety of stakeholders, including those with competing interests.
  • Excellent organizational skills, judgment, and the ability to balance multiple priorities with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with a quick learning curve, capable of working independently and within teams.
  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite, particularly in PowerPoint.
  • Experience using a CRM system to manage contacts.
  • Basic knowledge of fishing and boating, including the industries that support them.
