The Office Bookkeeping Assistant provides financial and administrative support to the Office Manager/Legal Administrator at a well-established law firm in New Orleans’ Central Business District.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Process invoices and receipts, reconcile bank statements, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and billing in line with firm policies.
  • Coordinate communications with vendors and maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Support scheduling, document preparation, and routine reporting as directed by the Legal Administrator.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end financial close activities, which may occasionally require extended hours.


Qualifications:


  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Proficiency with Peachtree, Quicken a huge plus - experience in Microsoft Excel for financial data entry and reporting a must!
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior administrative or bookkeeping experience, preferably within a legal or professional-services environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced office setting.

Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
