Fluid Systems Technician

Job Summary:

recruitAbility seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to manage pneumatics, pumps, fluids, and other liquid systems within the facility. This role requires a proactive approach to safety and quality, effective communication, and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery related to milk intake, cheddar production, and sweet whey by-products.
• Troubleshoot and service systems involving pneumatics, pumps, and fluid mechanics.
• Collaborate with specialized teams handling HVAC and controls for the facility.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
• Adhere to safety protocols and work in compliance with union standards.
• Participate in shift huddles and collaborate with coworkers to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate clearly and directly, and be approachable for resolving production issues.
• Use maintenance tools effectively and handle up to 60 pounds.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Technician role, preferably within a dairy production or food manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of pneumatics, fluid dynamics, and pumps.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, unionized environment.
• Experience with liquid systems and an understanding of food safety protocols is a plus.
• At least 6 months of industrial maintenance experience or education; 1 years with electrical systems, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyors, hydraulics, packaging, PLC, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and pumps.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must perform various physical tasks and work in varying environmental conditions, including cold/hot and dusty environments.
• Ability to work across shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
