Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery related to milk intake, cheddar production, and sweet whey by-products.
- Troubleshoot and service systems involving pneumatics, pumps, and fluid mechanics.
- Collaborate with specialized teams handling HVAC and controls for the facility.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
- Adhere to safety protocols and work in compliance with union standards.
- Participate in shift huddles and collaborate with coworkers to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate clearly and directly, and be approachable for resolving production issues.
- Use maintenance tools effectively and handle up to 60 pounds.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Technician role, preferably within a dairy production or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of pneumatics, fluid dynamics, and pumps.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, unionized environment.
- Experience with liquid systems and an understanding of food safety protocols is a plus.
- At least 6 months of industrial maintenance experience or education; 1 years with electrical systems, compressors, welding, plumbing, conveyors, hydraulics, packaging, PLC, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and pumps.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must perform various physical tasks and work in varying environmental conditions, including cold/hot and dusty environments.
- Ability to work across shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
