This individual will play a critical role in analyzing real estate investment opportunities, supporting acquisition and development initiatives, and collaborating across departments to drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial modeling skills, real estate investment knowledge, and the ability to synthesize market data into actionable insights.

- Build detailed and dynamic financial models for acquisition, development, disposition, and joint-venture investment opportunities.
- Conduct financial analyses including DCF, IRR, NPV, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate real estate transactions.
- Prepare and present underwriting packages, investment committee presentations, and executive summaries.
- Research and analyze market trends, comparable properties, cap rates, operating expenses, and economic drivers to support strategic decisions.
- Assist with due diligence on new acquisitions including financial, operational, and market-based assessments.
- Maintain and track a robust pipeline of prospective investment opportunities across U.S. student housing markets.
- Partner with cross-functional teams such as Asset Management, Property Operations, Acquisitions, and Development to ensure financial strategies align with corporate objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including brokers, lenders, joint-venture partners, and consultants.
- Provide mentorship to junior analysts and support best practices in financial modeling and underwriting.
What you NEED to SUCCEED in this exciting role:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field. Advanced education or professional certifications a plus.
- Experience: 2–5 years of financial analysis experience in real estate investment, development, advisory, investment banking, or similar fields.
- Modeling Expertise: Advanced Excel modeling skills and strong command of valuation metrics such as IRR, NPV, and cash-on-cash return.
- Market Knowledge: Familiarity with student housing or multifamily real estate markets, operations, and development processes.
- Collaboration: Ability to work across internal departments and external partners with professionalism and clarity.
- Communication: Skilled in writing investment memos, reports, presentations, and business correspondence.
- Multitasking: Strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Strengths:
- Experience underwriting student housing assets or mixed-use real estate developments.
- Strong understanding of real estate valuation methods and transaction structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Argus or other financial modeling software is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for real estate investing.
- Ability to interpret financial and market data and make sound, data-driven recommendations.
