Senior Project Engineer - Manufacturing & Distribution

Job Title/High-Level Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Project Engineer to lead and contribute to large-scale, complex projects within a high-complexity manufacturing and distribution environment. This role will focus on expanding our operations, including the development of new manufacturing facilities, the construction of cleanroom environments, and the installation of advanced manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage projects involving new building construction, clean room development, and the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Oversee and coordinate the build-out of new manufacturing facilities, including site preparation, structural construction, and utility integration.
- Ensure proper sequencing of construction activities to align with equipment installation and operational timelines.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to provide input on facility layouts, process flows, and clean room specifications.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including:
- Engineers responsible for clean room and process design
- Specialists managing CNC and 3D printing equipment installation
- Engineers overseeing distribution and material handling systems
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize facility layout, equipment placement, and process efficiency.
- Provide CAD drawing support where applicable, reviewing and offering input on designs for construction and equipment installation.o
- Identify risks associated with facility construction and proactively develop mitigation plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements related to clean room environments and equipment installations.
Minimum Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field); Master’s degree (Engineering or MBA) is a plus.
- 8 years of experience in project engineering, focusing on manufacturing facility construction and equipment installation.
- Proven experience managing large-scale facility build-outs, including clean rooms, HVAC, and infrastructure for precision manufacturing.
- Experience with clean room construction and installation of advanced manufacturing equipment (CNC machining, additive/3D printing, automation systems).
- Understanding of CAD software for reviewing and optimizing facility designs.
- Strong knowledge of building construction processes, utilities, and infrastructure requirements for manufacturing environments.
- Ability to coordinate multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring smooth collaboration and project execution.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex challenges in facility development.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience providing design input on facility and equipment layouts.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for clean room and controlled manufacturing environments.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification preferred.
