We're hiring a Safety Director for a top building materials and construction company! This office-based role offers the opportunity to lead safety initiatives while managing a team of three. You'll also have occasional travel to sites across NY/NJ and the chance to meet divisional leaders. Report directly to the President. Responsibilities:
- Safety Management: Develop and implement health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with regulations (chemical safety, ergonomics, injury prevention, etc.).
- Leadership: Collaborate with operational leaders to create a safety-driven culture and oversee safety operations across facilities. Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Training: Identify training needs, create training programs, and maintain training materials for all employees, with a focus on hourly workers and new hires. Support cross-training for front-line employees.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure proper safety records management (OSHA logs, MSHA standards, Incident investigations, etc.). Represent sites during regulatory inspections and audits.
- Talent Development: Support the recruitment and development of safety personnel, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with years of safety management experience.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols, including OSHA and MSHA regulations.
- Willingness to travel to sites and work flexible hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical skills.
- Preferred:
- Experience with OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and MSHA regulations.
- Field safety and training experience.
