We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Paralegal to join our Trusts & Estates team. The Senior Paralegal will support two Partners in managing case files, drafting legal documents, and coordinating estate and trust administration. Key Responsibilities:
- Document Drafting & Case Management: Prepare and manage legal documents related to wills, trusts, estate plans, probate petitions, tax filings, contracts, and business entity formations.
- Trust & Estate Administration: Assist in the administration of trusts and estates, including drafting correspondence, preparing inventories, and working with financial institutions.
- Court Filings & Probate Support: Handle probate filings, discovery preparation, and assist attorneys with hearings and court appearances.
- Client & Attorney Coordination: Work closely with clients to collect necessary financial and legal documentation, provide case updates, and maintain organized client records.
- Legal Research & Compliance: Conduct research on trusts, estate law, tax implications, and probate regulations to assist attorneys in case strategy.
- Billing & Timekeeping: Track and log billable hours (1,500 annually) while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with firm policies.
- Team Oversight & Collaboration: Support and delegate tasks to junior paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring workflow efficiency and case progression.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience as a Paralegal in Trusts & Estates, Estate Planning, Probate, or Tax Law.
- Education: Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Paralegal certification required.
- Strong legal drafting, document management, and research skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
Preferred Experience: Familiarity with California probate law, estate tax planning, and business entity formation is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
