About the Role:
We are seeking a Manager, Application Development to lead the design, development, and implementation of both vendor-packaged and custom-built solutions that enhance our Symitar core banking platform and other enterprise applications. This role is crucial in optimizing operational efficiency through technology, managing a team of developers, and collaborating with business units and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the core development team across multiple business lines and scrum teams.
- Oversee project and resource planning, ensuring efficient software delivery.
- Drive technical strategy and architecture for application development.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) and internal stakeholders.
- Implement and refine software engineering best practices, design patterns, and code reviews.
- Work with external vendors for integrated solutions and stay updated with vendor roadmaps.
- Ensure compliance with security, coding, and governance standards.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities to team members.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience with financial institution technologies, including Jack Henry Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, MeridianLink, Encompass, Alogent, CFT, Image Center, or Fiserv products.
- Strong software development knowledge, including methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
- Proven leadership and people management experience, with expertise in coaching and mentoring.
- Ability to influence executive leadership and drive technology decisions.
- Understanding of agile and iterative project management methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
- Hands-on experience developing, integrating, and supporting Symitar PowerOn & OpCon.
- Experience with IBM’s AIX operating system.
- Knowledge of SQL, XML, JavaScript, and relational databases.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and software engineering process implementation.
